The FB hate comments have resumed. I can't believe these guys have nothing better to do on fucking Thanksgiving

obsessed with thinking abt young leif and bertbert and the song problems by mother mother.

straight off the intro it’s “you and me we’re not the same/I am a sinner you are a saint” <- mostly from the perspective of leif, it just encapsulates the entire series imo. he meets bertbert. they’re the same. they’re not the same. he’s a sinner. he saved his planet (in the back of his mind he betrayed it - committing the ultimate sin in the eyes of humanity/himself; it doesn’t matter. he defines himself by it constantly.) she’s a saint. she comes from a planet that is literally a utopia. she’s trying to find purpose in the world and align the world to her good moral values and meets someone who’s as smart as her and understands her on a level she can’t find anywhere else (her primary friend for years; she’d never admit it). she hates him and loves him and they both know they have a part of themselves in each other.

“I’ve found love in the strangest place…I say I’m gonna stage a great escape” <- finds bertbert and verge; leif always escapes/leaves/says he’s going to leave but does he really(?)

“let loose a love all pent up and painfully out of place” <- leif esp in ep 8 with his father. always painfully out of place and nowhere to put his love for the world or his family that shunned who he was.

“doo doo doo, I’m a loser, a disgrace/You’re a beauty, a luminary, in my face” <- playful aspect of the song. I think leif plays that part of their dynamic off as a joke but knows it’s painfully true with bert bert. he is who he is but he might still internalize it. or at least from an audience perspective, there’s an idolization of what berts does and how much he admires her and her work esp from how she’s described as a character. she’s constantly working towards a beacon of truth and justice. she’s a beauty. she’s a luminary. she’s literally always in his face. he’s a loser, a disgrace.

“I’ve got a lot, not a lot, I gotta lot less than a lot/I’ve got problems” they both have problems. they both try to play off that they don’t. they both have a lot of problems.

ending it w the first verse but also saying the whole vibe of the song is very Them. chaotic alt rock and fun melodies harmonizing. also features loud yelling with sweet almost nostalgic melodies.

I think the only evidence needed to prove that addiction is not a substance issue Is the frequency with which I open and close facebook. I tell myself I have had enough, That I have other things to do, And a minute later, After my brain has processed a moment of boredom I find my fingers opening it up again, To see more of the same slowly-converging slop designed to sedate me and keep me scrolling.

I wonder how long it will take to unlearn that muscle memory, To train myself to do anything else in moments of quiet, To appreciate the things that actually matter. Why do I waste my time on things that don't?

Unfortunately, growing up online means I now have a near impossible to resist urge to piss people off online all the time. And I have to stop myself every time cuz I'm 26 w a career.

I've never been that into social media. I used Facebook back in the day, but once the Undertale fan group I was in turned toxic I stopped. Never picked up another social media site until I got back into Tumblr recently (if I even dare besmirch its good name by referring to it as such) and I'm loving it. One of the things I'm enjoying most is whenever I find a new blog I like, I'll not only follow but I'll go through as many of their posts as I can, reblogging every single one I like with reckless abandon. Super fun!

When I first started out here, I was worried that I might bother people with notifs or something because when I did something similar in my Facebook days it would get me made-fun-of. Here I'm actually free to cut loose and have fun. 😊

i don't know if tina isn't ALLOWED on social media as much as she doesn't have her own phone or laptop or anything so if she wanted to create an account it would be on her family's shared laptop with the very accessible browsing history. and while tina doesn't seem like the type to be embarrassed by that it would still be awkward and her younger siblings WOULD snoop and post things on her account

bcuz they seemed to be okay with gene having an account on the purrbo forum and louise having a facebook (??) account and gene didn't even really ask about making the purrbo account. Or maybe he was just lurking and he didn't make one until he posted his music thing
